After reviewing my first attempt in creating a realistic representation of the Volibear concept I came to the conclusion that I needed to study my material better.
I started to gather more reference material on bear and polar bear anatomy witch gave me a better view of what makes something look like a bear instead of the man-bear-pig sort of creature that I had made before.

Sculpting a better shape
I went back to Zbrush and adjusted the base-mesh to be more anatomically correct. The old model was quite a bit off and needed some revisions. The way I had sculpted the previous attempt was way to rounded and had the wrong proportions in for example the face to mouth ratio.

When this was corrected I added some detail until I was satisfied with the results.
I went a bit overboard with the detailing because I was having allot of fun, even tho it wont show for the most part in the final render.

Next time I will tell a few things about my texturing proces.
